I think that the 2010 Dodge Nitro is one of the sportiest looking SUV/Crossover vehicles out right now. I just really like the especially the R/T model and they drive nice, have plenty of power and are fun to drive. Plus I have been a Dodge/Mopar fan for over fifty years. Boy do I wish I had now some of the Dodges and Plymouths I owned back in the sixties and early seventies. I could retire quite comfortably if I had them to sell now. There are three trim levels on the 2010 Dodge Nitro. There is the base SE model, then comes the SLT and then the top of the line R/T. As would be expected the R/T has more standard equipment and cost you a few more greenbacks. There are two different engines available. The 3.7 liter is standard on the SE and SLT and then the 4.0 liter V-6 is standard on the R/T. The 3.7 liter V-^ puts out 210 horsepower and the 4.0 liter puts out 260 horsepower at 6000 RPM. The 3.7 liter comes with a four speed automatic and the 4.0 liter gets a five speed automatic transmission. All the Nitro models have the most available power train combinations in its class and you can choose between standard 2 WD or an available 4 WD. On the 4 WD models the part time system offers the ability to change from 2 WD to 4 WD on the fly, A neat feature on the Nitro that I haven’t seen on anything else is the Load-N-Go feature. It is a Nitro exclusive. It is standard on the SLT and R/T models. The rear floor slides out 18″ for easier loading of heavy items and keeps clothing away from dirty bumpers. It is also a perfect tailgating bench for football games. The 2010 Dodge Nitro has many seating options for up to five passengers. There is [plenty of space for five adults and an available six way power driver’s seat. You can even get heated leather seats. Class exclusive fold flat front passenger bucket and 65/35 split folding seats in the rear give great flexibility and a huge cargo capacity. When not folded down the rear seats recline for a n even more comfortable ride. When no one is riding “shot gun”, you can fold the low back bucket front seat forward to expose the molded passenger seat back that can be used as a handy utility table for you laptop. . Be sure to not try and drive and use the laptop at the same time. Not a very smart thing to do.
